- All rope, belts, string (including dental floss, shoestrings, ties for sweatpants/sweatshirts, and drawstrings/belts on purses)

sharp items including coat hangers, pins, paper clips, staples, spiral
notebooks, wire in flowers, keys, metal nail files and clippers, sewing
needles, razors, and scissors
- All spikes and studs including those on wristbands, belts, shoes, ropes, chain belts, jump ropes, and cords
- Toiletries
including items that contain alcohol or may contain (i.e. nail polish,
nail polish remover, facial cleanser, mouthwash, talcum powder, etc.)
- Cellular phones/camera phones, IPODs, and pagers
- Glues, bonding agents, and white out
- All aerosol bottles/cans or combustible items
- Lighters, or items fueled by butane and matches
- All plastic bags, cellophane, scotch tape, duct tape
- All medications will be returned to home or storage (The hospital has a pharmacy that supplies our medication needs)
- All headbands, visors, hats, caps of any sort
- Metal combs, wire brushes
- Steel toes or "combat boots"
- Necklaces, neck chains, chokers
- Heat Wraps
- Musical instruments
- Dangling earrings, wire hoops, or removable body piercing
